stuart smallStuart worked on a sheep farm from the age of 16 and then qualified as a vet in 2000. Stuart joined The Willows Veterinary Group in 2009. Stuart has a PhD in mouse behaviour and has a keen
interest in exotic species. Stuart is a committee member of the Fish Veterinary Society.



Yaiza Gomez LDAVet, MRCVS, GPCertFelP
Veterinary Surgeon

yaizaYaiza qualified in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 2002. Since then she has been working in small animal practice, mainly in Spain but also in Germany and for the last few years in the UK. Yaiza is very interested in feline medicine and obtained her GP Certificate in Feline Medicine in 2010 and after that enrolled in the CVE feline medicine course offered by the International Society of Feline Medicine in collaboration with the University of Sydney. She has been a member of the Feline Study group since 2009 and the ISFM since 2012. Her qualifications and expertise means that Yaiza is one of the most experienced cat vets in Cheshire. However Yaiza also loves dogs! She has a rescued bitch called Calima, a rescued tom cat from the Canary Islands called Oscar and a young queen called Bandama that she got from the RSPCA late in 2013. Yaiza is fluent in English, Spanish and German


Maxine Hackett
Auxiliary Nurse
maxineMaxine started here in January 2012 and works Mon to Friday and Sat on rota. She has 4 cats and 4 dogs as well as fostering kittens for the RSPCA. She enjoys the outdoors, wildlife and walking her dogs. Maxine is our Auxiliary nurse and is qualified as a Veterinary care assistant. She has previously worked for the cat’s protection for 7 years and has had experience working in veterinary practice.




Heather Stephenson
Auxiliary Nurse

Heather holds a 1st Class Honours Degree in Equine Science and has owned horses for most of her life. She used to compete in BSJA Showjumping. Heather owns a grumpy long haired cat called Frankie and a loyal Staffordshire Bull Terrier called Proteus who is full of life.
